Dave Cavan, Founder

Dave Cavan is the Chairman of Cavan Companies since its start in 1974. With a lifetime of developing and managing real estate projects, Dave has been inspiring people to his vision of the southwest, to what working can be like and to what living can be like. He has developed well over three million square feet of commercial office buildings plus multi-family and retail space. This along with numerous raw land improvement in multiple states.

Gary Burton, President and CEO

Gary Burton, is Chief Executive Officer and President of Cavan Companies and has over 30 years’ experience in corporate finance, equity capital and business development for private and public companies. He has successfully directed private equity and corporate transactions for start-up, mid stage and profitable organizations. Mr. Burton has senior management experience in the development and hospitality industries and previously worked in private law practice and served as corporate counsel for Ramada Hotels.   Gary is a graduate of Arizona State University and earned his law degree at Creighton University.

Vickey Morris

Vickey Morris, brings a diverse array of relevant real estate experience to Cavan. She has an extensive background in real estate spanning more than 25 years, including experience in commercial and residential development. After being honorably discharged from the US Army she worked as a Civil Engineering Project Manager, Real Estate Development Manager, VP of Land Use and Planning for a national homebuilder, Chief Title Officer, Senior Real Estate Paralegal, Escrow Administrator, Operations Manager for a large national builder title company and State Manager for two national title and escrow companies. Vickey is held in high regard by several law firms and regional banks for which she provides consulting services. As a public speaker on all things real estate, Vickey has been invited to speak and train at many high level national forums.

Jon Hamel, CPM® Hamel Management Services, LLC

Jon Hamel, CPM® is the managing member of Hamel Management Services, LLC and a Designated Broker in the state of Arizona. He has been involved in commercial real estate and management since 2001. Jon has managed diverse portfolios including office, medical, retail, and industrial properties. He also has experience in the acquisition and disposition of commercial property as well as vacant land. Jon earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Grand Canyon University.

Jon strives to manage properties through superior customer service, proactive property maintenance, and vigilant financial management.

Marcia Barker

Marcia Barker, has acted as Executive Assistant to Dave Cavan since 2003, and also served in the roles of Investor Relations and Office Management. She has over 20 years of experience as an Executive Assistant in the areas of real estate development, financial planning and life insurance. Marcia received a Bachelor’s Degree from Nazareth College of Rochester, New York.

Allison Macaulay

Allison Macaulay, has worked at Cavan Companies for over ten years serving in various roles focused primarily on Land Entitlements, Project Coordination and Marketing and Investor Relations. She served as the Builder Services Manager for a title company and also as an Executive Assistant at a software-consulting firm. Allison earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the Marriott School at Brigham Young University.



Greg Hancock, Hancock Companies

As a second generation home builder and fourth generation Arizonian, Greg Hancock has been a respected leader in the Phoenix real estate industry since 1973. Greg has been a licensed Arizona Real Estate Broker for 37 years. He founded Hancock Homes in the mid-1980’s and in 1988 joined California’s Watt Housing Corporation to form Watt/Hancock Homes.

In 1993, his affiliation with the Atlanta, Georgia-based Beazer Homes USA, Inc. began when the company purchased many of Watt Housing Corporation’s assets, including Watt/Hancock. Mr. Hancock remained one of Beazer Homes’ driving forces as the company completed a public offering and began trading on the New York Stock Exchange in 1994.

In 1996, Mr. Hancock founded Hancock Communities and served as president. As a result of his steadfast leadership and keen management skills, Hancock Communities building and production profits increased steadily. Under Mr. Hancock’s guidance and with his astute reputation, Hancock Communities was quickly regarded as one of the Southwest’s premier home builders, closing an average of 1,000 homes per year prior to selling the company in 2001 to Meritage Corporation.


Melanie Morrison, MEB Management Services

Melanie Morrison, Co-Owner of MEB Management Services, has over 28 years of Real Estate Management experience. She was the President and Owner of Morrison Management for 4 years, the President and Owner of Eagle Property Management for 10 years prior to MEB. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Real Estate from Arizona State University and is a licensed Real Estate Broker in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia and New Mexico.

MEB is based in Arizona with offices in Phoenix and Tucson and provides management services throughout the Southwest and Midwest. MEB will provide management services for the Bungalows. MEB manages over 90 apartment communities, providing quality apartment living to over 20,000 families. They comprise of over 600 team members and provide management, consulting, receivership and rehab services for all types and asset classes of rental housing.


Dennis Cain

Dennis Cain, is a Professional Civil Engineer and Registered Land Surveyor in Arizona. With over 30 years in the development of real estate projects and due-diligence through final construction clearances. Project experience in Arizona, Colorado, Tennessee, and North Carolina include master planned communities; residential, office, retail and industrial developments; municipal infrastructure and transportation facilities.


Paul P. Kingsley

Paul P. Kingsley of the Kingsley Law Firm LLC practices in the areas of corporate, securities and real estate. His corporate practice includes advising on a broad variety of transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions, company experience assisting clients with all aspects of private securities offerings. In addition, real estate structuring and formation, private equity financing and other contractual matters.

He also has significant practice that includes purchase and sale transactions, debt financing, leasing, joint ventures and other real estate transactional matters. Mr. Kingsley is licensed in Arizona and Illinois. He received his degree in Economics from the University of Cincinnati and his law degree from Harvard University.


James Drury

Jim Drury, MIS Siebel certified consultant, provides a wide range of IT Support for Cavan Companies, including server management, phone systems, security, accounting software systems, and Cisco networking. Mr. Drury has over 16 years experience in Microsoft technologies, having consulted for Software Synergies, Pegasus Solutions, and Siebel. While at Siebel, Jim managed a team of quality assurance engineers specializing in rapid deployment and regression testing of new systems. Jim received his BS in Business Administration from Michigan Technological University.


Sheldon J. Epstein, CPA, Epstein Schneider, PLC

Sheldon Epstein has been in public accounting all his professional life and held positions as a partner in a national firm as well as several smaller firms and is licensed in Arizona and Ohio. His current focus is management and business development for the firm and business consulting, succession planning and business financing solutions.

Scott Morrison, CPA, CCIFP Morrison, Clark & Conover

Scott Morrison, CPA, CCIFP, is the Managing Partner of Morrison & Associates, CPAs. For the past thirty plus years, Scott has been meeting the specialized needs of construction contractors by providing financial statement and tax compliance services. He has developed strong team relationships with Valley bond agents, surety companies and banks to serve growing companies. Working with business owners, Scott also develops financial and tax plans that maximize tax savings and meet a company’s bonding needs. Scott is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Arizona Society of CPAs, and a licensed Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP) with the Construction Financial Management Association, Arizona Builders’ Alliance, Surety Association of Arizona and the Entrepreneurs’ Organization. He grew up in Tempe, Arizona and received a B.S. degree in Accounting from Arizona State University.
